Summary of review and consultation process |
|
Key qualification review, development and consultation phases: Input and feedback from key stakeholders were invited and incorporated into the review. Key phases in the process included: · Pre-review survey on Toi Mai’s website. · Exercise Industry Wānanga held in Wellington in September 2022 attended by industry and provider representatives to discuss the current state of the industry, future trends, opportunities and training needs; and identify changes required to existing qualifications. · Formation of advisory groups followed by advisory group meetings to discuss and receive their feedback and work through the review of the qualifications. · Open public consultation – via the Toi Mai website and through advisory group networks. · Stakeholder endorsement of review outcomes – via email and online meetings. |

New Zealand Certificate in Sport, Recreation and Exercise (Multi-sector) (Level 3), New Zealand Diploma in Sport, Recreation and Exercise (Multi-sector) (Level 5) and New Zealand Diploma in Sport, Recreation and Exercise (Multi-sector) (Level 6) · Multi-sector has been removed from the title of the above qualifications. Industry and providers were confused on what this meant so removing this word and retaining sport, recreation and exercise clarified the content of the qualifications. · Minor change to the strategic purpose statements. · Minor changes to the employment and education pathways including removing the expiring Level 4 qualification. · Qualification award, evidence requirement and transition statements updated. · General conditions expanded to include diversity and inclusion statement, and legislation statements updated.
