Summary

Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council reviewed 3 Roadmarking standards from the Infrastructure Works subfield to update guidance information and check for industry relevance.

The Technical Advisory Group was made up of representatives from the New Zealand Road Marking Federation, large and small road marking businesses, and Connexis Work Based Learning, Te Pukenga. The Technical Advisory Group agreed with the inclusion of a reference to the recently updated NZ Road Marking Federation Trouble Shooting Guide. Other minor changes to performance criteria were made.

Main changes

·      The guidance information was updated to include references and links to up-to-date legislation, practice guidelines and industry standards.

·      The Standard Setting Body details were changed from Infrastructure ITO to Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council.

·      Performance criterion 1.2 of unit standard 18054 has been rewritten and simplified to include a wider range of products.  Specific product names have been removed to prevent the need to update this PC as new products come onto the market.

·      Minor changes have also been made to performance criteria 1.1, 1.2 and 1.4 of unit standard 21424.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is 31 December 2025.
