Date new versions published                                                               May 2023

Planned review date                                                                              December 2027

Summary

H-A-R reviewed the motor industry unit standards for the listed unit standards above to ensure they continued to be fit-for-purpose for the motor industry.

H-A-R carried out the review to better align these unit standards to the graduate profile outcomes of the New Zealand qualifications relating to the Automotive Refinishing, and Collision Repair new suite of qualifications. Providers with consent to assess were invited for input and feedback via email. Industry and subject matter experts provided feedback and input into the review of these unit standards.

Main changes

·      The review date for all the unit standards listed was aligned to December 2027.

·      Unit standard titles were updated to better reflect content.

·      Guidance information for all collision repair unit standards was updated to include note of industry bespoke vehicle structural repairer code of practice.

·      29574 incorporates content from unit standard 945 to reduce duplication.  The credit value has subsequently increased from 15 to 20 credits.

·      23979 incorporates content from 31993 to reduce duplication. The credit value has subsequently increased from 6 to 15 credits.

·      The credit value of 31995 has reduced from 8 to 5 to better reflect learning and assessment time.

·      5760 and 29581 are set to expire as replacing door skins is no longer an industry practice.

·      23995, 31994, 31995, 31998, and 5776, unit standards have been reclassified from Level 5 to Level 4 to better align with the new Level 4 qualification outcomes.

·      Standard setting details were updated to reflect the change of standard setting body to Hanga-Aro-Rau Workforce Development Council from 4 October 2021.

Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2024

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2027
