Summary

The standard setting responsibility for these unit standards were transferred to Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council in October 2021.

Although a suite of replacement standards was published in 2022, providers have requested these unit standards are maintained to allow their use in existing programmes while new programmes and resources are developed.

Main changes

·      The standard setting body was changed from Skills Organisation to Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council.

·      Information relating to the Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council Critical Essential Performance Capability was removed because the contents were significantly altered in a recent review.

·      AS/NZS 3000:2018 version is not yet cited in the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010.  To address this, the two sector regulators, WorkSafe New Zealand and the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB), have agreed that any reference to AS/NZS 3000 in the unit standards will be written as “AS/NZS 3000 (version as cited in the Electricity (Safety) Regulations), Electrical Installations (known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules)”.
