Toi Mai Workforce Development Council has completed the review of the unit standards listed above. The standard in bold has been revised and rolled over.

Summary
The five yearly review of these unit standards was carried out in collaboration with industry experts from across the sector. An advisory group was formed consisting of representatives from national and regional museums across Aotearoa New Zealand. The only current provider of these standards was also part of the group. The advisory group met three times in person; twice in November 2022 and June 2023, with follow up emails, to discuss feedback and confirm changes to the standards.
Unit standard 31659 was not initially in the scope of this review, however the advisory group did recommend some minor changes to align it to 29571 which is recommended to be assessed with 31659. Further review of this standard is to take place after the relevant Toi Mai Workforce Development Plan is completed.
Feedback on the current and reviewed standards was gathered from stakeholders through an open consultation process via Toi Mai’s website.
Main changes
· Four unit standards have been expired due to low and/or no usage.
· Guidance information has been updated across all standards to reflect current definitions and to reduce repetition in the performance criteria.
· Outcomes and performance criteria have been updated to reflect current practice and strengthen the application of Te Ao Māori practices.
· Titles of standards 20545, 29571 and 29572 have been changed to reflect updated outcomes and performance criteria.
· Standard 31659 has a title, definition and outcome statement changed to align with 29571. The planned review date for this standard was moved to December 2025.
Impact on Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR)
The standards have been moved from CMR 0078 to CMR 0099, except for standard 31659, which has been moved from CMR 112 to CMR 0099.
