Summary of review and consultation process |
Open Polytechnic | Te Pūkenga developed these qualifications. However, neither Open Polytechnic, nor any other provider, has developed a programme of study for either qualification. Open Polytechnic has no stakeholders, graduates, or end users of the qualifications. Open Polytechnic | Te Pūkenga consulted with Toi Mai Workforce Development Council regarding the Qualification Review. The intention was that Toi Mai would become the Qualification Owner during the Review process. It was recommended by Open Polytechnic to expire the qualifications. Before making a final decision, Toi Mai consulted with the Commercial Communications Council about the proposed expiry of the qualifications. The Council did not have a view on retaining the qualifications, or to the necessity for these qualifications in the context of all the other offerings available. Toi Mai has developed two new qualifications – New Zealand Certificate in Content Creation (Level 4) [Ref: 4789] and the New Zealand Diploma in Content Creation (Level 5) [Ref: 4790] which may provide an alternative pathway for some learners. Based on the consultation with the Commercial Communications Council, the development of the two new qualifications, and the fact that there is no approved programme of study for either qualification Toi Mai supported Open Polytechnic’s proposal to expire the qualifications. |
Main changes resulting from the review process |
To expire the following qualifications: New Zealand Diploma in Communication Studies (Level 5) [Ref: 3577-1] New Zealand Diploma in Communication Studies (Level 6) [Ref: 3578-1] |
