NZQA Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Planned review date December 2027
Summary
This review was undertaken as part of the planned cycle of review of Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) unit standards.
At a hui held on 21 September 2023, MQS along with Whakaruruhau reviewed the level 5 Whānau Ora unit standards to ensure they remain fit for purpose, current, relevant, and meet the aspirations and needs of ākonga, as well as whānau, hapū, and iwi. Whakaruruhau endorsed all amendments to the standards.
Main changes
· In line with the title changes, the purpose statements, outcome statements and performance criteria were amended for consistency of progression for unit standards 31426, 31428, 31429 and 31558.
· Increased credit weighting for unit standard 31426 from 10 to 15 credits. Whakaruruhau considered the reworded standard increased the study/work completion requirements.
· Outcome 2 was removed from unit standard 31428. Whakaruruhau considered the standard had too much content and only the SWOT analysis is required. Whakaruruhau considered the PESTE analysis removed is more relevant at level 6. The credit weighting was reduced from 15 to 10 credits.
· Guidance Information was amended to meet the needs of the sector and provide more information for the users of the standards.
· Minor wording changes have been made to provide clarity for users.
· Grammatical errors have been corrected.
· Minor amendments were made to standards 31422, 31423, 31424, 31425, 31427. Whakaruruhau considered that the high usage of these standards reflected they are fit for purpose and meeting the needs of the sector.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is 31 December 2025.
All changes are in bold.
