Summary of development/review and consultation process

Toitū te Waiora Workforce Development Council was contacted by ATMC NZ Limited (ATMC), the developer of the reviewed ‘local’ qualification, requesting that it be reviewed and updated to become a New Zealand Diploma (Level 7).

Details of the Diploma in Healthcare (Management) (Level 7), a local qualification, were transferred onto the current template for New Zealand qualifications, information gaps and discrepancies were identified for ATMC to work jointly with Toitu te Waiora to develop a first draft to be used for sector consultation.

This draft of the reviewed/replacement qualification was advertised on the Toitū te Waiora WDC website and circulated to all known stakeholders for feedback.

No further feedback was received through this last round of consultation.

Last dates of entry and assessment were assigned to the replaced qualification.

Main changes resulting from the development/review process

The qualification was transferred onto the current NZQA qualification template and all sections were populated, including Evidence requirements for assuring consistency; minimum standard of achievement; GPO credit distribution.

The existing five graduate outcomes were reduced to four and updated to meet current requirements.

The DASS Field Classification was changed from Business to Health and the qualification title was changed to reflect this.

The last date of entry to programmes leading to the replaced qualification is 31 December 2024. 

The last date of assessment is 31 December 2027, when the qualification will be discontinued.
