Registration of new Screen Industry Skills skill standards

Toi Mai Workforce Development Council has completed the development of two skill standards listed below.

Date new versions published                                                               March 2024

Planned review date                                                                              December 2028

Summary

These standards were developed in response to industry feedback which identified a need for small blocks of learning to assist in providing entry into the screen industry.  These standards will be components of a new Introduction to Screen Industry micro-credential which is aimed at those wanting to gain employment in “below the line” (crew) positions in the screen industry.

Key development and consultation phases:

·         Wider feedback into identifying the need for the standards was collected through stakeholder interviews carried out throughout 2022 to inform the Toi Paho (broadcast and screen) workforce development plan.

·         Meetings with industry advisory group to develop and consult on standards held in October 2022, February 2023 and May 2023.

·         Open public consultation via the Toi Mai website and through an email campaign to screen stakeholders and advisory group networks.
