Summary

Toi Mai Workforce Development Council (Toi Mai) received feedback from the music education sector that the previous review of the unit standards listed above did not allow for adequate sound/music contexts for assessment.  In that review, the last dates of assessment of version 4 of standard 27703 and version 5 of expiring standard 28007 were extended to 31 December 2024 to align with the review of related achievement standards by the Ministry of Education (Ministry).

In October 2023 a survey showed the support of schools for Toi Mai to further extend these last dates of assessment to 31 December 2026. This will allow time for Toi Mai to review these standards in conjunction with those being reviewed by the Ministry. 

Main changes

· The last dates of assessment of version 4 of the unit standard 27703 and version 5 of the unit standard 28007 were extended from 31 December 2024 to 31 December 2026.
