Summary
H-A-R carried out the review in October 2023 to better reflect the needs of the transport engineering sectors requirements for knowledge of heavy trailer systems. Industry and subject matter experts provided feedback and input into the review of this unit standards. This was achieved through online meetings and sharing documents and feedback via email.
Main changes
· Credit value was increased from 2 to 5 to accommodate the additional requirements in the learning and assessment.
· Guidance information was updated to reflect legislative requirements and link to website.
· Performance criteria 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 for Outcome 1 were updated to include four and five trailer axle systems.
· Performance criteria 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 were amended to reflect only coupling devices for articulated vehicles, with reference to trailer steering systems moved to new Outcome 4.
· New outcome 4 included to separate trailer steering systems which was previously incorporated in outcome 3.
