After an MNA visit

After a Managing National Assessment visit to a school, NZQA produces an MNA report. The process for developing an MNA report is outlined below.

Prepare an MNA report

Within six weeks of the visit, the NZQA School Relationship Manager drafts an MNA report. The report includes three key sections:

  • review of the progress or actions since the previous report
  • review of the findings of the current visit
  • recommendations for action (if required).

Review factual accuracy of the report

The MNA report will be in draft form for two weeks, to allow the Principal and Principal's Nominee to clarify any issues of factual accuracy or misunderstanding.

If the school indicates where the report is factually inaccurate or comments on any other matters, NZQA considers the comments and amends the report if necessary.

Publish report

The final report is sent to the Principal and Chair of the Board of Trustees and published on this website.

To find a specific MNA report, see Search Education Organisations .
