Can decisions be appealed?

  1. Yes. A school may appeal the decision made about Special Assessment Conditions within 15 school days of the notification of the decision by:
    1. informing NZQA which SAC are to be appealed through the Appeals section of the candidate’s online application; and
    2. providing extra information pertaining to the application, which must be uploaded in the Documents section of the candidate’s online application.
  2. If not satisfied with the outcome of the appeal the school or candidate may write to the Chief Executive within 15 school days of the date of the notification of the decision requesting a Review of the appeal. This letter is submitted in the online tool through the Appeals section. The Chief Executive will make a judgement and that decision will be final.
