NZDipBus moderation appeals
Where there are serious concerns about moderation decisions, it is recommended that NZDipBus providers contact NZQA to seek clarification about moderator comments or how to appeal moderation decisions.
To appeal a moderation decision, NZDipBus providers must send their specific concerns to NZQA, unless specified otherwise. This must be completed within four weeks of the date of the moderation result letter and moderation report.
The documents to send are:
- a completed NZDipBus moderation appeal cover sheet (PDF, 40KB)
- a copy of the moderation report
- reasons for appealing the moderation decision
- detailed evidence from the moderation submission (i.e. the assessment materials originally submitted for moderation) must be included where comments within the moderation report are being appealed.
Moderation appeals must be sent to the Operations Officer, NZDipBus, Tertiary Assessment and Moderation.
Tertiary Assessment and Moderation will acknowledge receipt of each appeal including additional information as appropriate and convey the time frame for processing the appeal.
Where necessary, NZQA will forward these concerns and written instructions to an appropriate moderator for re-moderation.
On completion of the process, NZQA will send you the result of your appeal, and a new moderation report if appropriate.
The result of an appeal is final.
