Transition plan to implement the new Code of Practice

The table below shows the steps in implementing the new Code of Practice and when each step will happen.

International Student Dispute Resolution Scheme (DRS) established 1 July 2016
All new students complaint about alleged breaches of the Code of Practice are to be made to NZQA (or DRS if the dispute is financial) From 1 July 2016
Self-review attestation form and any supporting material released on the NZQA website By mid-October 2016
Online resource toolkit developed with sector input By 1 December 2016
Translation of the new Code of Practice into other languages By 1 December 2016
Self-review attestation due 1 December 2016
Transition period between the old and new Codes ends 31 December 2016
New Code of Practice applies to all enrolments, including those commenced prior to 1 July 2016 From 1 January 2017
International Education Appeal Authority disestablished When it has completed the investigation of all complaints made to it before 1 July 2016
