Stopping and restarting the NZ Diploma in Business
Private training establishments that decide to place on hold their approved course leading to the New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDipBus) must notify NZQA. PTEs also need to provide appropriate documentation when they plan to reintroduce the course.
Programme on hold
PTEs deciding to place on hold their NZDipBus course, for example because of low enrolment numbers, should notify NZQA by letter. The monitoring visit for that year will be cancelled. The letter should state the reasons for not delivering the course, and indicate the proposed date of restarting.
Restarting after one year without significant change
When a course has been on hold for one year and is to be restarted the following year, the PTE must notify NZQA by letter. The letter should include assurance that the course will be delivered as originally approved.
Restarting after more than one year on hold
When the course has been on hold for more than one year, the PTE will need to apply to NZQA for re-approval. Where there have been changes to staffing, resources or delivery, these changes must be included in the application.
Arrangements will be made for the monitor to visit the provider to ensure that all requirements are being met.
(Note that Version two of the NZDipBus was introduced in January 2009. Documentation must demonstrate that the course to be reintroduced meets Version two requirements.
