Jean King Videos
Here are some short video clips on the evaluative approach to education provide an overview of capacity building and other factors by renowned US educator Dr Jean King. Professor Jean King is a professor of education at the University of Minnesota, and is widely recognised as a world expert in evaluating education.
These video clips aim to answer the questions:
- What are the reasons for taking up the evaluative approach?
- How do we encourage people to make the change towards an evaluative approach?
- What are the challenges to getting skilled evaluators in place?
- How could we best measure outcomes?
- What competencies do good evaluators need?
The information also has a wider application than capacity building, and can speak to evaluation more broadly. The clips may be downloaded for educational uses.
These videos clips were developed from her work in New Zealand with tertiary organisations and evaluators taking part in an external evaluation and review trial in 2008.
