A2006/033 - 25 August 2006Moderation of Te Reo Māori and Te Reo Rangatira Korero achievement and unit standardsTeachers of Te Reo Māori are advised that for the purposes of external moderation in 2006, it is necessary to clarify how visual aids should be used for the following Kōrero achievement and unit standards:
The purpose of the visual aid is to act as a prompt for the delivery of a speech, or to assist in engaging the audience in a speaking performance, depending on the requirements of the assessment activity. If cue cards are used as a visual aid, the speech is not to be read from the cards. The cards are to be used only as a prompt. Schools are reminded that a VHS cassette or CD-R/DVD-R is the medium for submitting evidence of kōrero for moderation. Recordings must be accompanied by the video identification form, on which the location of the evidence to be moderated must be clearly identified.
