A2006/042 - 13 October 2006
The length of time for 2006 externally assessed Drama standards
- In the three externally assessed Drama standards (90011, 90304 and 90610) the time candidates ‘are advised to spend answering the question is set at 60 minutes’; standard 90612 is set at 90 minutes to allow 30 minutes to view the video.
- The amount of space provided for each question should be regarded as an accurate indication of how much candidates need to write a full response. Quality rather than quantity should be the focus.
- Candidates may respond in any format that suits them e.g. mind map, bullet points, notes, sketches, paragraphs.
- In the examination for 90304 Questions One and Two will require candidates to apply knowledge of drama and drama processes. Question Three will require them to respond to and make judgements about live theatre they have seen.
