A2007/033 - 21 September 2007Videotapes in External Assessment of Dance for 2007The assessment specifications for each externally assessed standard describe the content and context requirements for the selection of a dance work, and the length of the extract for the following Levels 1-3 external examinations to be held on Friday 23 November 2007. Level 1 - 90004 - View, interpret and respond to a dance performance Level 2 - 90297 - Analyse and discuss a dance performance Level 3 - 90597 - Analyse and evaluate a dance performance . The assessment specifications for Dance are available on the New Zealand Qualifications Authority website (L1, L2, L3).
Technical Requirements Schools need to provide a VHS dance video extract and a VHS video player with a monitor screen at least 60 cm (25 ins) in size to ensure that all candidates are able to view and hear the video equally clearly. Two copies of each videotape are required for each external examination. This is to ensure a back up is immediately available should one videotape be damaged. Please note that both videotapes will be required for marking purposes. Schools are advised to keep a copy of the videotapes for each Level. LabellingIt is essential that the videotapes for the examination sessions are correctly labelled. You will be provided with labels for the videotapes in October. These labels will contain the following information:
The name of the dance works must be clearly written on the labels and the labels securely attached to the videotapes. Videotapes will be returned to schools in April after the reconsideration process has been completed.
