Draft Revised External Achievement Standards for Level 2

This circular provides notification of the revision of Media Studies Achievement Standards 90278 and 90279. These standards have been modified prior to the Alignment of Standards process.

These revised standards are still in draft form and are currently going through the registration process. The registered standards will be valid from 2010 onwards and assessed against in the 2010 Media Studies external examination.

The achievement criteria in the draft standards now consist of a single outcome for each grade. This will ensure both standards are more validly assessed and allow markers to award grades based on holistic judgements.

The draft revised achievement standards are now available for viewing on the TKI website.

Once the standards have been registered NZQA will notify schools and the final versions will be placed on the NZQA website.
