Format of the 2007 Assessment in Scholarship Music15 June 2007 - SC2007/003The format of Scholarship Music 2007 differs from previous years because the standard has been revised to allow assessment across both Domains of Music – Music Studies and Making Music. There will be three separate sections. Each section will be marked out of 8 to give a total of 24 marks. Each candidate will submit one portfolio, either as a performer, composer or musicologist. The first section will be the Portfolio. The Portfolio requirements are outlined in the Assessment Specifications. The Assessment Specifications can be accessed at the following URL on NZQA’s website: Attached to the Assessment Specifications is an Authenticity Form. This form will need to be completed by each candidate. Each candidate must hand their completed copy of the form, with their portfolio, to the examination supervisor at the time of the examination: 2.00pm Wednesday 5 December 2007. A copy of this Authenticity Form is attached to this newsletter. Candidates presenting a portfolio as a performer or a composer must submit a recording of one substantial piece of their work and other recordings of 1 minute each as part of the portfolio. This must allow the assessors to meaningfully evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the candidate. The other two sections will be completed during the examination on Wednesday 5 December.
