S2009/010 - 30 March 2009Top Art folio exhibition on tourThe annual Top Art Exhibition will be touring New Zealand from 30 March this year. In response to teacher feedback, the tour is beginning five weeks earlier than in previous years. Over the next five months, two groups of students' Level 3 visual arts folios that achieved Excellence in 2008 will travel to approximately 30 schools, museums, and galleries, from Kerikeri to Invercargill. Top Art is a chance for this year's Level 3 visual arts students to see a range of high-calibre art produced by their peers and get an idea of what they need to aim for in order to achieve Excellence themselves. The exhibition is also a chance for members of the public to see the impressive work being produced by New Zealand students. The exhibition will tour in two sets of approximately 25 folios. In previous years both tours have started in the North Island. This year one tour will start in the North Island and one in the South Island, with the folios from the South Island touring the upper North Island from June. The PDF copy of this circular (below) includes a list of the venues confirmed so far. A further circular will be sent once all venues have been confirmed. Additional information will be available shortly on the Top Art website.
