New Board Members |

Two new members have been appointed to the Board of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.
Dr Ailsa Smith, a senior lecturer for the Maori Cultural Studies Centre at Lincoln University, and Wellington architect Warwick Bell both take up their four-year terms this month (Dec 2004). Dr Smith is a past member of the Lincoln University Scholarships Committee, the Library Consultative Committee and Human Ethics Committee. Affliliated to Taranaki tuturu iwi, she was a member of the Maori Knowledge and Development Panel for the TEC's Performance Based Research Fund assessment and has also been on accreditation panels for PhD assessment.
Mr Bell has a strong industry training background and experience in both governance and management. He currently has a leadership role with a national consortium of architecture practices. Mr Bell is also the deputy chair of the Industry Training Federation and a past chair of the New Zealand Institute of Architects Education Task Group and of the Architects Advisory Group to the Architecture ITO. He has also been on several NZQA advisory groups.
Dr Smith and Mr Bell replace Judith Carter, who has served two terms on the Board, and Trevor Moeke.
