Education Dean joins NZQA Board
John Langley has recently joined the NZQA Board. John is the inaugural Dean of the Faculty of Education at The University of Auckland. Prior to this, he was Principal of Auckland College of Education, New Zealand's largest provider of professional education and applied social science programmes. He led an amalgamation between the College and the University to form the new Faculty of Education in 2004. John was formerly the Director of the Teacher Registration Board (now the New Zealand Teachers Council). He has been a teacher, teacher of the deaf, lecturer in a college of education, principal of a large primary school, and was a founding director of a private teachers college in Christchurch. He is also a qualified psychologist. Meanwhile, the NZQA Board farewells another of its members, Dr Graham Stoop. Dr Stoop has been appointed as Chief Executive and Chief Review Officer of the Education Review Office. |
