Quality Assurance conference expands

Private Training Establishment staff will have the chance get an in-depth look at quality assurance with expanded NZQA Quality Assurance conferences in the second half of June.

Each conference will run over two days in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland.

"The format has been changed in response to previous participants' feedback," says NZQA Deputy Chief Executive Quality Assurance Mike Willing.

"People wanted more opportunity for in-depth discussions; workshops to cater for different levels of experience; and access to a greater number of NZQA staff. We welcome the opportunity to engage with the tertiary sector whenever we can."

Mike will discuss the tertiary reforms and there will be major workshops on audit, moderation, course approvals and ccreditation for beginners, advanced and Māori audiences; as well as minor workshops on specialist topics.

"Another new feature of this year's format will be one-on-one sessions to enable providers to discuss their individual concerns with key NZQA staff," Mike says.

Numbers have been limited to 200 in Auckland, 60 in Wellington and 40 in Christchurch. Registrations are now closed.
