Progress on the review of business qualifications

Ngā hua kua puta i te arotakenga tohu mātauranga pakihi

Planning began in 2011 with extensive consultation with current owners of Business qualifications, including meetings in Dunedin, Wellington, and Auckland.  As a result, the Qualifications Services (QS formerly QD&TM) business unit of NZQA was invited to act as lead facilitator, on behalf of current owners, to establish governance arrangements for the review.

Two consultations on proposed arrangements followed, in September/October (DOC, 303KB) and November/December (DOC, 73KB) 2011.  As a result, a meeting was held on 6-7 March 2012 that was representative of current owners and national peak bodies:  the meeting decided to establish a Governance Group to oversee the review, agreed Terms of Reference (DOC, 62KB), and determined selection criteria and a selection process.

The purpose of the Governance Group was agreed to:  "provide leadership and direction for the development of cohesive New Zealand business qualifications which are strategically relevant to New Zealand’s people and communities and their aspirations".  The minutes of this representative group meeting are available below.

Applications for Governance Group membership were invited later in March and the members were selected and announced in April.

I tīmataria tēnei kaupapa i te tau 2011 me te pāhekoheko me ngā kaipupuri tohu mātauranga pakihi ki Otepoti, Te Whanganui a Tara me Tāmaki Makaurau.  Ko te putanga i hua ko te wāhanga pakihi o NZQA (QS) - Te Roopu Mana Tohu.  I pōhiritia tēnei rōpū hei māngai, hei whakatū hoki i ngā whakaritenga whakahaere mō te arotakenga.

E rua ngā hui i whakaritea hei kohi i ngā whakahautanga i tū i te Mahuru/Whiringa-ā-nuku- September/October (DOC, 303KB) me ngā marama o Whiringa-ā-rangi/Hakihea 2011- November/December (DOC, 73KB).  Ko te otinga atu i whakaritea he hui i te 6-7 o Poutū te rangi 2012 e whakakanohi ana i ngā kaipupuri ponga, me ngā rōpū matua ā motu.  I takatūngia te Rōpū Whakahaere hei tirotiro i te arotakenga me ngā whakawhitinga paearu mahi- Terms of Reference (DOC, 62KB) me ngā momo tukanga kōwhiri.
