Results publication: advice for students

Understanding your results online

Before you see your NCEA results page for the first time, you may find it helpful to find out what information is where on the results screen.

Return of NCEA and Scholarship answer booklets

All 2011 NCEA and Scholarship answer booklets were returned to candidates in January and February. Some booklets have been returned to NZQA by NZ Post as undeliverable. If you have not had your booklet returned yet, please contact NZQA before 30 June 2012.

What to do if you think there is a problem with your results

If you have concerns about your 2011 results, you should contact your school for further advice.

Reviews and Reconsiderations

Reviews and reconsiderations for 2011 examinations are now closed. If, however, you receive an answer booklet which was previously missing and you wish to apply for a late review or reconsideration, please contact NZQA. For more information, see Reviews and reconsiderations.

Certificates and other result documents

You are entitled to one free copy each year (if there has been a new result added) of your Record of Achievement and one free copy of your School Result Summary.  To find out what these are, see Results

In addition, if you have achieved a qualification (such as NCEA Level 1) you are entitled to one free certificate for that qualification.

However, you must apply for these.  To find out how and when to apply for your free copies, or to order additional copies, see Order documents.

Other Qualifications

In 2011 NZQA checked school learners for a range of other national qualification other than NCEA. To do this, results from 2011 and any previous years were used and if you completed one of these national qualifications it is now reported on your Entries and Results page. If you have queries about this, please contact your school

You are entitled to one free copy of a certificate for this national qualification which may be requested through your Learner Login or see Order documents.

New Endorsements

If you have been awarded a new endorsement on an NCEA qualification achieved in a previous year, you can request a new certificate.  There is a charge for this.  To order a new certificate with a new endorsement, see Order documents.

Course Endorsement

Course Endorsements are available for courses completed from 2011 onwards. If you were awarded an endorsement on any of your 2011 courses, this will be shown on your entries and results page, Record of Achievement and School Results Summary. For more details, see Endorsements.

The standards that made up each course were selected by your school and if you have any questions about this you should contact your school. If you have any other questions about course endorsements contact NZQA.

Credit Inclusion

NZQA recognises achievement from some certificates or qualifications that are not directly assessed using New Zealand Qualifications Framework Unit or Achievement standards. This is called Credit Inclusion. For more information on Credit Inclusion, including programmes eligible for inclusion, see Credit Inclusion.

Results from any of these programmes are not reported with your other results. If you have undertaken such a programme your school can help you to make an application for credit inclusion. This application must be made within two years of the certificate/qualification being awarded.

Credits from Credit Inclusion programmes will only be awarded if you require them to complete an NCEA qualification. Any credits awarded from a Credit Inclusion programme will not appear on any documents issued by NZQA.
