New Level 1 Standards
Evidence gathered so far this year through moderation and from discussions at BPWs, has highlighted the following:
- Interaction between students (rather than teacher/student) appears to provide the most natural form of evidence
- Rote learning a written role play does not provide satisfactory evidence for the interaction standard.
Exemplars for the new level 2 assessment resources
By the beginning of next year there will be a full range of annotated level 2 exemplars in all languages.
Clarification document
A clarification document for the level 1 presentation standard will be published shortly. There are no significant changes from the old standard however the language features mentioned in the standard do allow teachers to give more weight to the presentation features. Inconsistencies here do not relate simply to errors in grammar etc but also to pronunciation, stress patterns etc. Further clarification of this can be found in the document.
