Review of Vagahau Niue unit standards

This review is now complete.  Reviewed unit standards have been published and can be accessed by searching for the unit standard's reference number or classification name.

A matrix for the new graded unit standards is available (DOCX, 16KB).

Background

In April 2016 the New Zealand Qualifications Authority’s National Qualifications Services (NQS) began the review of 30 (DOCX, 23KB) Vagahau Niue unit standards (levels 1-4) listed on the Directory of Assessment Standards (DAS).

Following community meetings held in November and December 2015, a Project Advisory Group (PAG) established and a specialist Review Panel appointed.  The Review Panel met in May, developed 15 new graded unit standards at Levels 1-3 and reviewed two Level 4 unit standards.  It was proposed that the remaining Level 4 unit standards be set to expire.

The new graded unit standards have been based on the framework used in other language achievement standards.  A map of existing Level 1-3 unit standard numbers linked to the new graded unit standards is available (DOCX, 18KB).

Assessment Support Material will be published when available.
