New Zealand Diploma in Business

New Zealand Diploma in Business results data

The documents below provide results data for the years 2003 to 2006 for New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDipBus). Data relating to NZDipBus diplomas issued by NZQA in 2007 is also included.

Please note that data may vary slightly from that previously provided to tertiary education organisations. This is due to transfer of data from the old ‘legacy system' to the new online results database, in operation since October 2007. For example, during transfer, results for individual learners may have been merged, errors detected and corrected; reported ethnicity, as submitted by the same individual, may have changed.

NZDipBus qualification count

For the diploma data included in the spreadsheet opposite, the year stated is when diplomas were issued by NZQA, not necessarily when they were achieved. Data relating to 2007 is therefore complete (as at 3 March 2008) and is included in the spreadsheet.

The data relates only to diplomas issued by NZQA. A number of TEOs issue their own diplomas. From 2008, TEOs intending to issue their own diplomas must (a) reach formal agreement with NZQA and (b) formally verify results prior to release. This agreement must be renewed annually.

For all of the following spreadsheets, the results data for a particular year indicate results awarded in that year, not results reported by TEOs in that year. For example, results for semester two, 2005 may have been reported early in 2006, but are recorded as 2005 results.

Results by prescription by provider type

The spreadsheet opposite provides the number of results reported by each part of the sector. The category "other" includes universities, Christchurch College of Education and NZQA.

The seven core prescriptions are indicated by shading in the spreadsheet.

For this and the following grade spreadsheet, note that students are sometimes awarded more than one result for the same prescription in the same year – they may have been reassessed (for example) to achieve a pass grade or a better grade of pass.

Results percentages by grade and by prescription

The spreadsheet opposite provides relative data for grades - a 'pass' being C to A+ and a 'no pass' being a D, E or F.

A 'P' grade is a pass, but is ungraded. These results, in the main, arise from credit transfer but include other ungraded passes (for example, aegrotat passes) and results for local prescriptions.

The seven core prescriptions are indicated by shading in the spreadsheet.

Count of students by prescription

The spreadsheet opposite provides the number of students (as opposed to results) for whom results were reported. The data therefore indicate the number of students achieving results (one or more) in each prescription in the nominated years.

The seven core prescriptions are indicated by shading in the spreadsheet.

Count of students by number of prescriptions for 2006

The spreadsheet opposite provides the number of students for whom results have been reported in 2006 in relation to the number of prescriptions they received a result for. The spreadsheet gives an indication of full-time and part-time student numbers.

Count of students by gender, ethnicity and age for 2006

Ethnicity:
Age:

These three spreadsheets provide a breakdown, for 2006 results, of gender, ethnicity and age.
