Trade qualifications

In the past, the Qualifications Authority has administered many trade and advanced trade certificate qualifications.

These are being progressively phased out and replaced by National Certificates and Diplomas registered on the National Qualifications Framework. Assessment is no longer available for most of the trade and advanced trade certificate qualifications.

The table below lists the last year for examinations and the last year for issue of trade and advanced trade certificates. The last date for issue of certificates is 31 December in all cases. Note that certificates not listed in the table can no longer be issued.

To find National Certificates and National Diplomas for current trade qualifications, use the Explore Framework or Search Framework function. These qualifications are based on unit standards assessment.
