Qualifications review schedule
NZQA is responsible for the quality assurance of levels 1-6 qualifications listed on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF), and the integrity, currency and accuracy of the NZQF itself. It does this by ensuring that qualifications are subject to regular review. This process is managed via the Qualifications Review Schedule.
NZQA has confirmed the 2012 schedule. The summary table below lists the subject areas confirmed for 2012.

Qualifications Review Schedule 2014 (XLS, 111KB)
Individual qualifications are reviewed to ensure they remain useful, relevant and fit for purpose. They are also reviewed within a broader context of industry or sector or social need.
The schedule is a publicly available document which will be updated regularly. Qualifications at levels 1-6 on the NZQF with a Current status will have a review timeframe assigned. The timeframe will have a status of “provisional” until it is “confirmed” with the appropriate developer or sector group.
Qualifications have been grouped on the schedule in sector clusters. This is to ensure that qualifications meet the overall needs of any sector. NZQA will work with qualification developers to ensure any groups of qualifications for review are appropriate and comprehensive.
Searching the Qualifications Review Schedule
The schedule may be searched by qualification subject area or by the qualification developer’s name.
Responding to the schedule
Review timeframes in the 2013 and 2014 schedules are “provisional” until confirmed with the relevant parties. Qualification developers or owners should in the first instance liaise with others in their sector about the timeframe for their review.
Those scheduled for review from 2013 onwards should contact NZQA at nzqfquestions@nzqa.govt.nz if they wish to bring their review forward.
