Information regarding COVID-19
Contact NZQA's Communications team
All enquiries from journalists should be directed to the NZQA’s Communications team in the first instance. For other enquiries, please visit our main contact page.
If you would like to make a media enquiry, please include the following information when submitting your query:
- Name
- Media Agency/Organisation
- Contact email and telephone number
- Subject
- Deadline
Please submit your query to media@nzqa.govt.nz or call 027 457 5783.
Expectations
NZQA will acknowledge your query as soon as possible and aim to get you a response within a reasonable timeframe.
Typically, our response time for media queries is within two working days, depending upon the length and complexity of the query. If your deadline is sooner than this, please advise us when you make initial contact and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.
Queries regarding data and statistics
The vast majority of requests for data require us to build a custom query to extract information from our databases. We hold records for hundreds of thousands of students. As such, this process can take longer than the stated timeframe above and we would ask that you factor this in when making your request.
Official Information Act
In some cases your query may be more appropriately treated as a request under the Official Information Act. More information on this can be found here.
