Statement |
My art is about blending Māori culture with pop culture. By this I have blended Māori kōwhaiwhai with Tupac Shakur’s body who’s a famous rapper from America. This is very important in my whānau to acknowledge our Māori culture and I have combined it with my love of rap music. I have seen my uncle and my brothers do tā moko drawings and I have done my interpretation in my art work. |
