Permissions for the Ringa Toi Student Exhibition

What we are asking of you

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) request your permission for the purposes set out in the Permission Table below, as more fully described in the following paragraphs.

First permission

If your school is submitting your application on your behalf, NZQA requests your permission for your school to disclose to NZQA your Artwork and application form to enter the Ringa Toi Student Exhibition. 

Second Permission

NZQA requests your permission to display your Artwork and Biographical Statement, which has been submitted either by yourself or your school, in the Ringa Toi Student Exhibition (called “the Exhibition” in the rest of this Permission Form). 

If your Artwork and Biographical Statement is displayed in the Exhibition: 

  • the Artwork and Biographical Statement could be seen by NZQA staff, teachers, students, and any member of the public that views the Exhibition, along with media coverage or promotional materials; and
  • the Artwork and Biographical Statement may be photographed or recorded by Exhibition visitors, including the media; and
  • images of your Artwork maybe be provided by your school, or be taken by NZQA during the exhibition period, and used for media and promotional purposes, including in an exhibition catalogue, on NZQA’s website or other publication medium.  

Third permission

NZQA requests your permission, in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020, to collect, hold, use and disclose information which could identify you. 

Identifying information may include: 

  • images of you which have been submitted with your application, or taken by NZQA with your consent during the exhibition period; and
  • your Artwork (if it has features that could identify you); and
  • biographical details which you have provided in your application; and
  • your name. 

If your work is displayed in the Exhibition, your identifying information may be published for media and promotional purposes.  This information can be seen by NZQA staff, teachers, students, and any member of the public that views the Exhibition, along with media coverage or promotional materials. The information may also be photographed or recorded by Exhibition visitors, including the media. 

This information will be held and used by NZQA for up to 10 years, then removed from our websites or other NZQA publications and destroyed (Note - Any work that does not identify you will be held, used and disclosed until it is no longer needed).
