Assessor Support for internally assessed standards
18 May 2021
NZQA is pleased to announce some significant changes to our assessor support options for internally assessed standards this year, following a recent review. This includes providing more online learning options and workshops now being available free of charge.
A range of e-learning resources is available, aimed at supporting internal assessment. This includes subject specific, bite-sized modules and short courses focusing on a variety of subjects and standards, along with a full range of online Best Practice Workshops. We will continue to expand the range over time, in response to sector feedback.
These resources are available at no charge on NZQA’s Learning Management System Pūtake, and will be accessible via the Education Sector Logon (ESL) from 14 May 2021.
NZQA will also continue to accept requests for facilitators to present at regional or national face-to-face events.
The purpose behind the release is to provide assessors easy access to a large volume of resources that NZQA has produced. It is hoped this will increase understanding of standards, assessment practices, assessor consistency and the reliability of assessment nationally.
NZQA will also continue to develop support of this kind, in line with the feedback heard from almost 30 recent School Leader Insights hui, attended by over a quarter of all schools and kura.
Further information on the Assessor Support resources and how to access them may be found here.
