National Moderator’s Reports

To advise assessors on general issues and trends identified during external moderation, Assessment & Moderation have reinstated the National Moderator’s Report. This Report is not intended to clarify specific standards but provide further insights from moderation material viewed throughout the previous year.

These reports will be available for assessors on the NCEA Subject Resources pages found on the NZQA website. The report will be able to be downloaded as a pdf document.

In 2019, this report is available for those subjects that use achievement standards as their means of assessment, together with those that have a significant number of student entries.

Best Practice Workshops and TAP Programme

Based on the success of the ‘on request’ model last year, this has been extended for 2019, to include all of our different workshops. A regional or national workshop may be requested by regional cluster groups or subject associations prepared to host it in a school or organisation. The request model provides greater flexibility around choice, mode of delivery, and targeted support.

The online Transforming Assessment Praxis (TAP) Programme will run throughout the year, with assessors able to choose a time slot that suits them best.

More detailed information on the options available and how to request or register for the TAP Programme, can be found on the Best Practice Workshop pages.
