Changes to the list of standards that contribute to University Entrance literacy requirements
Following a review of the list of standards that can be used to contribute to UE literacy requirements, the list will be updated in 2020.
Nineteen standards will be added to the list and the status of 21 standards already on the list will be updated. Thirteen standards will be removed. To avoid disadvantaging existing students, all these standards will continue to be available to contribute to the UE literacy requirements until 31 December 2021. The reviewed List will therefore be fully in place from 2022.
To help with planning for the 2020 school year, the registered numbers of the assessment standards that contribute to University Entrance literacy requirements from 1 January 2020 are listed on the NZQA website:
http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualifications-standards/awards/university-entrance/literacy-requirements/
To find out more about the review process and implementation timeframes, go to the NZQA website.
The next periodic review of the List is planned to start in 2022.
