Information for Design and Visual Communication external assessment 2020
As part of the regular process of review and improvement, there will be changes to the assessment specifications for Level 1 and Level 2 from 2020.
Level 1 (91063, 90164, 91065) and Level 2 (91337, 91338, 91339)
Visual diaries will no longer be accepted in external submissions.
As stated in the current specifications: “It is expected that candidates select only the material that represents their best work”.
Visual diaries will still be accepted at Level 3 and NZ Scholarship.
Level 1 (91064)
Computer aided drawings should be in third angle projection and views aligned.
Level 1 (91064, 91065) and Level 2 (91338, 91339)
Candidates no longer need to submit evidence of the design thinking for their drawings.
As stated in the current specifications: “There must be a title statement, a one sentence description, or a design brief included in the portfolio to identify the design topic/context.
This, along with the signed authenticity statement, acknowledges the candidate’s design thinking.
