NCEA 2019 Design and Visual Communication (DVC) Assessment Schedules for externally assessed standards
The 2019 assessment schedules that will be used by markers are published on the DVC subject resources page on our website. These assessment schedules, which have been reviewed and revised by a team of subject experts, make clear and transparent the evidence expected by assessors when they are making assessment judgements. These are expected to support and strengthen sector-wide assessment capability. As is the practice with other subjects, these assessment schedules and the assessment specifications will be reviewed annually.
From 2019, DVC candidates will receive a grade only (N, A, M, E) for their external submissions. Candidates will not get individualised assessment schedules. The revised schedules provide candidates and teachers with detailed information about how candidate work is assessed. This will align DVC marking practice with external assessment in all other subjects.
There is no change to the way candidates will be assessed, and there should be no impact on teaching and learning programmes.
