Online upload of submissions for external assessment 2018
The online upload process has been designed for schools wishing to submit candidate work for external assessment in digital format for Scholarship Health and Physical Education, and specified standards for Design Visual Communication, Technology, and Visual Arts as listed in the table below.
This upload process for externally assessed, digital submissions is different from that used for the uploading of digitally submitted work for moderation of internal assessment.
Online upload process instructions
There have been minor improvements to the online upload process for digitally produced, externally assessed submissions.
At the start of Term Three, Submission Instructions for the 2018 process will be available. In addition, Submission Instructions from 2017 are still online. These will assist schools considering using the upload option, rather than submitting candidate work in hard (physical) copy.
Entry data for digital submissions
Teachers are required to ensure that all entries for those standards where work will be submitted digitally are flagged as DS (digital submission) in their SMS system by 1 September at the latest. In addition, a further check that this has occurred should be undertaken with either the school’s Principal’s Nominee or data manager.
This requirement includes Digital Technologies Level 1 standards 91886 and 91887 for which work may only be submitted digitally; candidate work for these standards may not be submitted in hard copy.
Provision of folders and packing materials
If folders and other packing materials have traditionally been provided for the dispatch of submissions for marking, these will no longer be sent to schools for digitally flagged entries.
Schools will continue to receive folders and packing materials, where relevant, for all entries where the digital submission flag has not been set.
Standards for external submission upload
The table below lists those standards for which externally assessed submissions may be uploaded online in 2018.
