Outcome of review of university entrance requirements 2016-2017
A2017/21 - 18 Aug 2017
To: |
Principal/Tumuaki |
NZQA has completed a periodic review of the University Entrance requirements 2016-2017 to ensure that the requirements remain relevant and fit-for-purpose.
Following extensive engagement and feedback from the sector, NZQA has concluded that the current University Entrance requirements remain fit-for-purpose and should not be changed at this time.
There were two areas in which the review indicated that improvements could be considered:
- a process for the regular review and maintenance of the approved subjects list;
- review the list of standards that can be used to meet the literacy requirement.
NZQA has commenced work on these and will consult the sector in due course. Any changes will be phased in carefully.
