Qualification evaluation for refugees
NZQA has a long-standing arrangement with Immigration New Zealand and the New Zealand Red Cross to evaluate qualifications for people who have come here as refugees.
We are responsible for evaluating overseas qualifications held by former refugees, displaced persons and persons from a refugee-like situation. We relate these qualifications to a level on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF). This is part of our signatory obligations under the Lisbon Recognition Convention.
If you need more information about qualification recognition for recently arrived or former refugees:
- contact us through our online form
- phone 0800 697 296.
