Applying for an IQA for teacher salary assessment

You may need to apply for an International Qualification Assessment (IQA) for teaching salary assessment if your qualification has not been evaluated by NZQA previously.

Definition of teaching qualification

A teaching qualification is an academic qualification awarded for the completion of study which is designed to prepare a person to become a teacher.

In New Zealand, teaching qualifications include theoretical studies and assessed practicum experiences

Pre-approved overseas teaching qualifications

People with pre-approved teaching qualifications do not require an IQA to register as a teacher or get a teacher salary evaluation.
