Applying for an IQA to register as a teacher in New Zealand
If you have an overseas teaching qualification, you may need to apply for an International Qualification Assessment (IQA) with a teaching assessment to teach in New Zealand.

Definition of teaching qualification
A teaching qualification is an academic qualification awarded for the completion of study which is designed to prepare a person to become a teacher.
In New Zealand, teaching qualifications include theoretical studies and assessed practicum experiences.
Pre-approved overseas teaching qualifications
People with pre-approved teaching qualifications do not require an IQA to register as a teacher or get a teacher salary evaluation.
