Dance - annotated exemplars

An annotated exemplar is an extract of student evidence, with a commentary, to explain key aspects of the standard. It assists teachers to make assessment judgements at the grade boundaries.

The material in these exemplars cannot be used (either in part or in full) for internal or external assessments submitted for any form of grading.

Level 1

  • AS90858 - Compose dance sequences for given briefs (1.1)
  • AS90002 - Perform dance sequences (1.2)
  • AS90859 - Demonstrate ensemble skills in a dance (1.3)
  • AS90860 - Demonstrate understanding of the elements of dance (1.4)

Level 2

  • AS91205 - Choreograph a group dance to communicate an intention (2.1)
  • AS91206 - Choreograph a solo dance to communicate an intention (2.2)
  • AS91207Perform an ethnic or social dance to communicate understanding of the style (2.3)
  • AS91208 - Perform a theatre dance to communicate understanding of the dance (2.4)
  • AS91209 - Perform a repertoire of dance (2.5)
  • AS91210 - Demonstrate understanding of a range of choreographic processes (2.6)

Level 3

  • AS91588 - Produce a dance to realise a concept (3.1)
  • AS91589 - Choreograph a dance to develop and resolve ideas (3.2)
  • AS91590 - Perform a solo or duet dance (3.3)
  • AS91591 - Perform a group dance (3.4)
  • AS91592 - Perform a repertoire of contrasting dances (3.5)
  • AS91593 - Demonstrate understanding of dance performance practices (3.6)
