Revisions to 91265, 91268 and 91587 Assessment Resources

91265 Conduct an experiment to investigate a situation using statistical methods

Exemplar:

An error in the Low Excellence student evidence was identified, where the display did not match the data. This has been corrected.

There is now new student evidence for Low Merit, High Achieved and Low Achieved. These changes were made to ensure the student evidence reflected the messages in the Clarification document around the posed question and suggestive inference.

All annotations have been altered to better illustrate the requirements of the standard at each level of achievement.

Clarification:

The name of the first section has been changed to ‘Question, Plan and Conclusion’, as it now includes the information about the conclusion. This material was previously in the section ‘Required quality of student response’.

91268 Investigate a situation involving elements of chance using a simulation

Exemplar:

The Low Excellence student evidence has been amended to correct errors in calculating the probability of winning an ice block and the mean number of ice blocks.

All the annotations have been altered to better illustrate the requirements of the standard at all the grade boundaries.

Clarification:

There has been no update to the clarification for this standard.

91587 Apply systems of simultaneous equations in solving problems

Exemplar:

All student evidence now exemplifies a real-life context. This was to ensure the evidence required for interpreting solutions in context was clear, and expectations around communicating solutions were modelled. The annotations have been rewritten for all student evidence.

Clarification:

There has been no update to the clarification for this standard.
