An annotated exemplar is an extract of student evidence, with a commentary, to explain key aspects of the standard. It assists teachers to make assessment judgements at the grade boundaries.

The material in these exemplars cannot be used (either in part or in full) for internal or external assessments submitted for any form of grading.

Level 1

  • AS90962 - Participate actively in a variety of physical activities and explain factors that influence own participation (1.1)
  • AS90963 - Demonstrate understanding of the function of the body as it relates to the performance of physical activity (1.2)
  • AS90964 - Demonstrate quality movement in the performance of a physical activity (1.3)
  • AS90965 - Demonstrate understanding societal influences on physical activity and the implications for self and others (1.4)
  • AS90966 - Demonstrate interpersonal skills in a group and explain how these skills impact on others (1.5)
  • AS90967 - Demonstrate strategies to improve the performance of a physical activity and describe the outcomes (1.6)
  • AS90968 - Demonstrate and describe responsible behaviour for safety during outdoor education activities (1.7)
  • AS90969 - Take purposeful action to assist others to participate in physical activity (1.8)
  • AS90970 - Demonstrate self management strategies and describe the effects on participation in physical activity (1.9)

Level 2

  • AS91327 - Examine the role and significance of physical activity in the lives of young people in New Zealand (2.1)
  • AS91328 - Demonstrate understanding of how and why biophysical principles relate to the learning of physical skills (2.2)
  • AS91329 - Demonstrate understanding of the application of biophysical principles to training for physical activity (2.3)
  • AS91330 - Perform a physical activity in an applied setting (2.4)
  • AS91331 - Examine the significance for self, others and society of a sporting event, a physical activity, or a festival (2.5)
  • AS91332 - Evaluate leadership strategies that contribute to the effective functioning of a group (2.6)
  • AS91333 - Analyse the application of risk management strategies to a challenging outdoor activity (2.7)
  • AS91334 - Consistently demonstrate social responsibility through applying a social responsibility model in physical activity (2.8)
  • AS91335 - Examine the implementation and outcome(s) of a physical activity event or opportunity (2.9)
  • AS91336 - Analyse group processes in physical activity (2.10) 

Level 3
