91056: Implement a multi-unit manufacturing process
Updated February 2014. This document has been updated in its entirety to address new issues that have arisen from moderation.
Overview
This standard is derived from the ‘manufacturing specialist knowledge and skills’ strand of the technology matrix.
Identifying a manufacturing process
As part of enabling students to identify a manufacturing process that is suitable for the multi-unit production of a technological outcome, assessors should ensure that the outcome is suitable for manufacturing, and that there is a clear set of manufacturing specifications.
Implementing the manufacturing process
Students do not have to produce units of their chosen technological outcome on their own. The selection of resources, therefore, may include employing a labour force, checking their skills, and providing any necessary training.
